The start of a new year is the perfect opportunity to get organized at the office and set yourself up for a more successful year. If anyone knows the importance of organization, it's an account manager. So we brought together the account managers at Addison Clark to share their best tips for prioritizing and organizing their day.

Here's what they said....

Start your morning on the right foot.
How you start your workday is just as important as what you accomplish throughout it. That's why one of our top suggestions is to avoid the tendency of jumping straight into work as soon as you come into the office. It seems counter-productive, but addressing what’s at the top of your inbox without taking time to prioritize can lead to a whirlwind day of reactive tasks, rather than proactive.

Our Advice: Take a few minutes at the start of your day to check and update your to-do list. Go through your inbox to see if other requests have come in and schedule them accordingly on your to-do list.

Delegate, delegate, delegate.
Doing everything yourself can quickly lead to loads of stress and burnout. That’s why it’s so important to use the resources available to you. Before diving into a task, ask yourself if you’re the best person to handle this or if someone else would be better suited for the task at hand. It’s okay to ask for help!

Pick 3-5 MUST DO items every day.
Some days it seems like the to-do list just keeps multiplying, so at the start of the day pick 3 items that must get done that day. Once those are done, you can move on to other tasks, but focusing your efforts on those three tasks will help you be more productive. If you’d like, you can also pick 3-5 would be nice items and do them in your free time, if possible.

Close the extra tabs, and focus on one thing.
Ever feel like you’re a multi-tasking machine? While it’s not a bad skill to have, multi-tasking can sometimes cause you to jump around between projects too much without giving anything your full attention. When you sense this starting to happen, close out of the extra tabs on your computer and just focus on one thing.
