Google recently published an article detailing the three ways they think about SEO. We found that our thinking aligned with Google in many ways, so we wanted to share some of our own insights.
1. When working to improve your company's SEO, start small. Making edits to your website's content, metadata, and improving site speed are all small ways that you can move the needle in the right direction. Remember, SEO adjustments can take time to make a difference but there are many long-term results.
2. The market is ever-changing, so embracing the change is the best approach! Recently, there was a huge shift in mobile traffic. Google reported that over 50% of website traffic comes from mobile, so making the necessary adjustments to your website is important. Think about things like refreshing content and designing a mobile-friendly layout to ensure your mobile users have a positive experience on your website. As an added benefit, things like new content and a mobile-friendly website all impact SEO for the better.
3. Consolidate information into an easy-to-navigate website. Like we mentioned above, mobile website traffic is huge. Consolidating your content is not only better for the user but it is viewed more favorably by Google when determining where your website will rank in search results. Once you consolidate all of the content on your website, it's also important to index these pages through the Google Search Console. This will ensure that Google finds your new content!
